Structured
Innovation can be employed to develop breakthrough strategies.
With Business Strategy Development you can:
- Create a vision based that is both realistic and achievable.
- Develop objectives that will move your company in the direction of
achieving its vision.
- Combine ideas from Guided Brainstorming™ sessions into strategic
concepts that can leapfrog the competition.
- Create paradigm shifts rather than being caught by them –
Contradictions in the business model limit options for growth. By using
TRIZ inventive principles to resolve business contradictions, you can
identify breakthroughs that result in paradigm shifts.
The first step in the Business Strategy Development process
is to build a function model of how the existing business operates. This
model reveals how and why the as-is business model operates. Next, a
Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Threat (SWOT) analysis is completed.
Traditionally, when the SWOT analysis is complete you are left to our
own devices to find ways to capitalize on opportunities, exploit
strengths, eliminate weaknesses and counteract threats. With Structured
Innovation™, the SWOT analysis is incorporated into the business
function model. Strengths and opportunities are included as supplemental
useful functions. Weaknesses and threats are included as supplemental
harmful functions. Inventive principles from TRIZ are applied to
brainstorm ideas to capitalize on opportunities, exploit strengths,
eliminate weaknesses and counteract threats. SWOT is an analytical
exercise. By employing the TRIZ inventive principles, we generate more
out-of-the-box ideas and improve the probability of identifying
breakthrough strategies.
Business Strategy Development method is applied by
conducting facilitated workshops with an experienced Pretium facilitator,
Guided Innovation Toolkit™ software and your Experts. This combination is highly synergistic and results in dramatic increases in the number and
quality of ideas generated. |
