OutCompete and Pretium have announced an alliance.

May 1, 2008 – Ideation International, Inc. and Pretium Consulting Services,
LLC have announced a software alliance to provide a full spectrum of TRIZ
software to customers. Ideation will now be able to offer Pretium’s
Guided Innovation Toolkit™ software to customers and Pretium will be able to
offer Ideation’s Innovation WorkBench® software to customers. This
combination of TRIZ software products provides customers with the broadest
range of TRIZ software tools in the industry. In addition, the two companies
are actively discussing additional projects to combine their methods and
techniques to deliver the additional innovation products and services to
both industry and academia.
TRIZ Training for Teachers: FREE Half-day course
April 12-16, 2008 TRIZCon 2008 will be held at Kent State University and hosted by the College of Technology, KSU Regional Development, and the KSU College of Arts and Science.
April 12, a special event for K12 teachers is a Free Pre-Conference Workshop and tutorial to learn the basic concepts, principles, and practical tools of the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ).

Goal: Learn basic TRIZ concepts: Ideality, Resources, Contradiction, Inventive Principles, how to solve inventive problems systemically as a step-by-step process and be prepared to teach students. Four hours of training in the basics of TRIZ and use of Guided Brainstorming Toolkit will be provided.
Requirements: The conference room will have an internet access for all participants. Software is web based and each participant should have IBM PC compatible laptop with access to the internet.

Halliburton Associates and Pretium have announced an agreement to jointly develop web-based Guided Brainstorming Toolkit software for use by middle school and high school students.
Recent studies show that American students need effective problem solving skills. To achieve this goal we will provide an effective structured methodology based on TRIZ. TRIZ provides a systematic method to identify problems, guide selection of appropriate strategies, and encourage inventiveness. Teacher training will be developed for middle and high school, after-school, summer, and virtual year round learning programs.

Pretium Consulting was selected to speak at American Society for Quality (ASQ) section 415 meeting in Windsor, Ontario.
Orion, Michigan - April 6, 2006 – Pete Hanik, Managing Director of Pretium Consulting will provide a presentation to the members of section 415 of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) in Windsor, Ontario. An abstract of the presentation is as follows: Six Sigma students are taught to remember the acronym DMAIC – Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control. However, “Improve” often produces incremental solutions at best and many companies using six sigma find that measured benefits decline over time. The solution is to put Innovation into DMAIC – Define, Measure, Analyze, INNOVATE, Control. This talk will explain how to put structured innovation using function modeling, TRIZ and brainstorming into your DMAIC process.

Pretium Consulting Services and Oakland University's Product Development and Manufacturing Center partner to provide advantage to manufacturing companies
Collaboration creates a new engineering paradigm to provide companies with ability to “innovate on demand”, enabling quick development of new products.
Orion, Michigan – August 1, 2005 – As manufacturing, IT, engineering and R&D jobs continue to slide to China, India, and other “low cost countries”, Pretium Consulting Services, LLC and Product Development and Manufacturing Center (PDMC) at Oakland University have partnered to do something about it. Pretium (a leading provider of TRIZ based methods for problem solving, NPD, Intellectual Property Enhancement, and Roadmapping) and the Product Development and Manufacturing Center (PDMC) at Oakland University (a recognized Center of Excellence in implementation of Systems Engineering in Automotive) created a strategic partnership, merging the two methodologies to create a structured process for manufacturing companies to quickly “invent” new products, as well as solve current problems that will help them stay ahead of the competition.
Dr. Patrick Dessert, Director of the PDM Center says, “In yesterday’s economy the battle was fought on the shop floor, but as companies look to their suppliers and themselves to rapidly providing new products and features to delight the customer - the battle will now be won by those companies who put a high value on innovation. TRIZ, a methodology based upon the analysis of over 3 million worldwide patents is a very powerful method for helping engineers to be more creative and ‘think outside of the box’. The first result of the partnership was merging The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) with Systems Engineering into a new engineering methodology called “Innovative Systems Engineering”. So, Innovative Systems Engineering helps companies to equip their employees with an ability to invent on demand, and implement and manage the innovation process holistically.
Pete Hanik, Managing Partner of Pretium said, “In manufacturing, and specifically the automotive industry - TRIZ has been used sporadically in the United States since the mid 90’s by companies like GM, Ford, Delphi, Dura Automotive, TRW, and Visteon. Dr. Dessert has already piloted some of the material in a recent class taught for an automotive OEM. The Innovative Systems Engineering methodology is being implemented into the curriculum for degree-seeking students at Oakland University. Further, Innovative Systems Engineering Fundamentals is available as a two day continuing education course aimed at automotive professionals.

OutCompete and Pretium have announced an alliance. Under the terms of the alliance, OutCompete and Pretium will work together to customize software for Pretium and OutCompete clients. Additionally, OutCompete and Pretium will work in conjunction to develop new applications of TRIZ methods, especially in the business arena.
To date, OutCompete and Pretium have developed next-generation TRIZ methods known as Systematic Value Advancement (SVA) for situation analysis, Roadmapping, new product development, and intellectual property. OutCompete and Pretium have also collaborated to develop Guided Brainstorming methodology and software.
